  2. 00:29:08 David Boulware is leading the trial and he joins us now to tell us more about it.
  3. 00:29:13 Doctor,
  4. 00:29:13 good morning.
  5. 00:29:14 Thank you for joining us.
  6. 00:29:14 So we've basically launched a clinical trial that's looking at prevention of COVID-19 disease in high-risk people who have been exposed.
  7. 00:29:22 In the next week to ten days we'll be fully enrolled and we'll have a result back in about three to three and a half weeks.
  8. 00:29:28 According to a July 2020 article for Marilyn Marchione,
  9. 00:29:31 Dr Boulware stated that he paid $5,000 of his own money to buy hydroxychlooquine to use in the trial.
  10. 00:29:38 According to grant disclosures,
  11. 00:29:40 the medications were donated by a company that three
  12. 00:29:43 weeks later entered negotiations with Gilead to make
  13. 00:29:46 generic forms of their more profitable remdesivir.
  14. 00:29:49 When asked about the donations,
  15. 00:29:51 Dr.
  16. 00:29:51 Boulware avoided admitting that he was ever reimbursed for his purchases.
  17. 00:29:55 But more curiously,
  18. 00:29:56 Dr.
  19. 00:29:57 Boulware was unaware that there was a brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine named Plaquenil.
  20. 00:30:02 How could a doctor conduct a study on a drug yet not know the brand name of that same drug?
  21. 00:30:08 We conducted a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial to try to eliminate by the best quality data.
  22. 00:30:15 So what we found was that there was no effect of hydroxychloroquine.
  23. 00:30:20 So in the hydroxychloroquine group it was 12% and in the placebo group it was 14%.
  24. 00:30:26 Dr Boulware's interpretation of the study was disputed by Marcio Watanabe,
  25. 00:30:32 a PhD statistician out of Brazil.
  26. 00:30:35 Marcio discovered that the study in fact did show a statistical benefit of hydroxychloroquine.
  27. 00:30:40 Another interesting result of the study was that despite higher than recommended doses,
  28. 00:30:44 no serious side effects were seen.
  29. 00:30:47 The New England Journal of Medicine has still not published this update.
  30. 00:30:50 The double-blind and so what that means is that neither the participants nor the investigators actually knew what they were receiving.
  31. 00:30:57 All of those randomized controlled trials were not blinded.
  32. 00:30:59 The people knew which medications they were taking because it was stamped on the pills.
  33. 00:31:03 To the Boulware studies and Skipper and all the others that Minnesota Group put out,
  34. 00:31:07 their outcomes of importance,
  35. 00:31:09 hospitalization and mortality,
  36. 00:31:10 are exceedingly small numbers and therefore the randomization was worthless in those trials.
  37. 00:31:14 They didn't adjust for anything in those trials to deal with the fact that they had weak randomization and so this is all sham.
  38. 00:31:21 Those studies are all sham.
  39. 00:31:22 They have the look,
  40. 00:31:23 the plausibility claim,
  41. 00:31:24 oh they're randomized trials but what they are is sham evidence.
  42. 00:31:28 The day after he announced his hydroxychloroquine study,
  43. 00:31:31 Dr Boulware signed a deal with Revive Therapeutics,
  44. 00:31:33 a pharmaceutical company developing bucillamine,
  45. 00:31:36 a different drug to treat COVID-19.
  46. 00:31:39 In October of 2019,
  47. 00:31:41 Dr Boulware gave a speech where he disclosed a research grant from Gilead,
  48. 00:31:45 maker of remdesivir.
  49. 00:31:46 Once the damage was done and the drug was discredited,
  50. 00:31:49 on July 6th 2020,
  51. 00:31:51 Boulware submitted a new disclosure form to the American College of Physicians.
  52. 00:31:56 As he states,
  53. 00:31:56 Dr.
  54. 00:31:57 Boulware has no relevant relationship with any company which makes therapeutics for post-exposure prophylaxis to coronavirus,
  55. 00:32:03 unless you listen to former FDA Commissioner Scott Godley.
  56. 00:32:07 Remdesivir blocks viral replication.
  57. 00:32:09 You want to get it in early before you have a lot of virus on board.
  58. 00:32:16 Does that sound like prophylaxis?
  59. 00:32:18 Boulware added new grant doners,
  60. 00:32:20 acknowledged new relationships,
  61. 00:32:22 including $17.79 worth of food and beverage funded by Gilead.
  62. 00:32:27 While we admire his attention to detail,
  63. 00:32:29 he neglected to disclose the $3.26 million donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the University of Minnesota for COVID-19 research,
  64. 00:32:38 two weeks after his study began.
  65. 00:32:40 As of Feb 2025,
  66. 00:32:42 the four universities involved in the Boulware study have received over $412 million in Gates Foundation grants.
  67. 00:32:49 In October of 2023,
  68. 00:32:51 a new study of actual patients who were treated with hydroxychloroquine showed the drug was very beneficial in reducing mortality in COVID patients.
  69. 00:33:00 Even with that evidence,
  70. 00:33:01 Boulware refused to acknowledge the benefit of hydroxychloroquine,
  71. 00:33:04 cleverly stating,
  72. 00:33:05 "Hydroxychloroquine has not been shown to have any benefit
  73. 00:33:08 in randomized clinical trials." If hydroxychloroquine
  74. 00:33:11 was effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths,
  75. 00:33:15 the fear-based fountain of hundreds of billions of dollars for tests,
  76. 00:33:19 genetic sequencing,
  77. 00:33:20 vaccines,
  78. 00:33:21 plasma,
  79. 00:33:22 drugs,
  80. 00:33:22 and research for COVID all based on emergency use authorization would end.
  81. 00:33:28 Right after he gave the University of Minnesota millions of dollars in April 2020,
  82. 00:33:33 Bill Gates made his wishes abundantly clear to all the scientists and institutions that he funds.
  83. 00:33:39 Bill Gates, who describes his foundation's role in helping fund vaccine efforts in a blog post,
  84. 00:33:44 "Every additional month that it takes to get the vaccine is a month when the economy cannot return to normal.
  85. 00:33:51 There is a lot of discussion among governments,
  86. 00:33:53 the World Health Organization,
  87. 00:33:55 the private sector,
  88. 00:33:56 and our foundation about how to organize these efforts." Unfortunately for the University of Minnesota,
  89. 00:34:02 fraudulent and scandalous behavior is par for the course.
  90. 00:34:06 "This was intentionally done,
  91. 00:34:08 I believe and others believe,
  92. 00:34:10 to make room for vaccines and highly expensive in-hospital treatments such as remdesivir.
  93. 00:34:16 You can't stop a pandemic of a rapidly mutating RNA virus by vaccination or by in-hospital treatments.
  94. 00:34:24 You have to do it on an outpatient basis.
  95. 00:34:26 The patient comes in to see you,
  96. 00:34:28 they fit the case definition,
  97. 00:34:30 you have an extremely safe drug,
  98. 00:34:31 you treat on suspicion,
  99. 00:34:33 you don't wait for testing,
  100. 00:34:34 you send the patient home to quarantine,
  101. 00:34:36 and you treat their family at home.
  102. 00:34:38 This is how you stop a pandemic of this nature."
